About Us

Kerry Bennett and daughters have the priviledge of owning Tara and it is our tenth anniversary in July 2011.   

With two prior owners here for twenty years each Tara has been established 50 years here at "picturesque Pialligo", a little rural enclave with neighbours such as nurseries, orchards a winery and cafes.

At Tara we love animals and the dogs and cats and rabbits and birds that stay are considered part of our family. We provide the best in accommodation and care and welcome you to come with staff to house and settle your pet and to meet them in their room on pickup. We offer short and long term boarding services.

We think it is very important for you to see for yourself the dogs in their boarding environment and their neighbours.  We believe you need as much first hand information as possible to feel confident with leaving your loved ones.

The facility is a very large one with lots of accommodation options for dogs and the same for cats. We offer  roomy comfortable accommodation and heating for winter and large deciduous trees for shade in summer.

Kerry’s own history has been in the health system – first as a registered nurse, then at the University of NSW as a researcher in the School of Health and then prior to Tara as a senior officer in the Commonwealth Department of Health for many years.

This background is a very relevant because there is a long standing interest and understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of groups and individuals – completely relevant to the pets that stay with us.

Tara has staff of good character who love animals and are kind and thoughtful to the pets in their care. They have a wide range of qualifications and experience and do a great job looking after our boarding guests.
